Single: Mr J Mederos - Two Light Beams (prod. by Stro Elliot)

Who does the Hip-Hop blues better than this man? Using a melancholy gem supplied by his Procussions groupmate Stro Elliot..

Just good music that reflects kind of the times we livin' in right now man.. delivered by one of the most slept-on writers in a long while..

Soleone - A Ruthless Criticism Of Everything Existing (Album Stream)

Soleone, the extremely thoughtful newcomer (sorta..he's been making music in Europe for years) that has a lot on his mind that he'd like to share with you good folks, has decided that the best way to inform you fuckas is via stream--of his whole, new album, "A Ruthless Criticism Of Everything Existing".

The now Denver-residing artist truly has many issues to speak on here.. if you know whats good for ya, tune in..

Single: Jordan Craft - When It Rains, It Pours

One of the perks of knowing local talent through Twitter is that frequently they'll pop through on the late night tip on Twitter and hit you with some proper goodness in the form of new Music..

Regular PHH readers will remember Jordan Craft from when yours truly threw ya'll his "Not Just A F*#@in Mixtape" release that displayed his prowess as an up and coming name on the CO radar..

When It Rains, It Pours" is a quick and effective reminder that Craft is still around and honing his work... He also handled the production here, which is even more reason to be enthused..

Single: Mr. J. Medeiros - The Rockies (prod. by Stro Elliot)

Unless you're just not a newsy at all you may of not heard about the serious devastation on the northside of my city..

Mr. J Medeiros (now located in southern Cali) calls Colorado Springs home base as well and he went ahead and laced a tribute track for 'The Springs' as we call it...

Seeing as how Medeiros and The Procussions have always been considered one of the top 3 Hip-Hop acts to have ever come up outta C Springs, it's fitting that he went ahead and did this joint up proper... Stro on the beat...

I know my hometown of Colorado Springs is on fire right now and might still be in July during my, Stro Elliot, and The Procussions shows there- (dates below). This was written and recorded just before the fires started to help promote those shows, which should explain why it’s content is not focused on “fire” or “fire fighting” ha. It’s a quick nod to my fam, friends, and fellow 719 heads… I hope to write more about home. A big shout to Stro Elliot for the production and Luke Atencio for the artwork.

Single: Catch Lungs ft. Donny Goines & Danny Brown - Gotta Kill This

Catch Lungs is an enterprising young new rapper that has already made a good impression on me w/ his "Awake In A Dream" release... and now has garnered my attention with a new single that again combines his knack for picking great collaborators and solid production.

He's easy enough to like, especially since he hails from my home away from home, Denver, CO..

I won't lie, I'm still adjusting to his rhyme delivery, but I suspect that I'll keep giving it a chance if he continues to be savvy about his guest features and beat selection. Here he has Donny Goines and Danny Brown at his side assisting things, so that can't hurt one bit..

As we stand now, Catch is readying his  "Mermaids & Vampires" project, due out this Spring/Summer sometime..

Jordan Craft - Not Just A F*#@in' Mixtape

What would PHH be if we ain't take the time to highlight up and coming talent?

This week I'm pleased and proud to bring ya'll CO emcee Jordan Craft and his recent project "Not Just A F*#@in' Mixtape", that dropped back at the onset of this past Summer...

I've been in CO a while, and I know when a local talent is kidding themselves and when they're legitimately nice. This man has what it takes to possibly put the state that's somewhat unknown for musical prowess on the map nationally..

Craft's reflective and honest lyrics pour out like butter over well chosen production straight through this release; that for just a "tape", is awfully cohesive...

Hosted by DJ Incredible outta VA.

Single: Mr. J Medieros ft. Stro - Neon Signs

Another new single from Mr. J Medeiros' upcoming new album....

Getting up with his former groupmate from the Procussions in Stro, who handles the chorus masterfully. Medeiros issues yet another powerful and stinging track dedicated to a lost love and that contains an infectious, upbeat groove.

"Saudade" drops on June 14th via Medieros' own label De Madeiros LLC and distributed via Fat Beats...

Single: Mr. J Medeiros - Nothing Without Providence

This Summer emcee, singer, songwriter and all around just general champion of great underground music and conscious thought Mr. J Medeiros will be releasing his latest record titled "Saudade", and as the new custom is now, he's released his first single for the record, which I must co-sign, is hella proper.

Stunning wordplay teamed with an undercurrent of activist and independent thought and an ascending beat that builds itself up and down masterfully all come together to form "Nothing Without Providence", a heartfelt, authentic piece of Hip-Hop from the Cali-based Medeiros.

You can listen to it as many times as you want here and purchase here.

Video: Distrakt - Factorized MC's

Man, I BEEN tryin to tell heads bout Distrakt....

The MC/producer that shares a common bond w/ ya man in the fact that we both call Colorado Springs our hometown has long been slept-on as a true crusader for underground dope, but every once in awhile real heads would recognize him for his clearly superb talents...

This paper/claymation vid is direct from Distrakt's vault and is joint off his upcoming "Photon Mind Travel Mixtape", that's due out shortly.

If you like the actual "Factorized MC's" tune (and you damn well should) than run over here and break that man Distrakt off with a buck and support that real Hip-Hop.

Single: Deux Process - Tilt The Crown (prod. by DJ Rhettmatic)

It ain't often that I get to write about some cats from my section of the world (C. Springs suhn!) going out to L.A., pursuing their dreams in the Hip-Hop game and collaborating with legends....Matter of fact unless we're talking bout' The Procussions (who are now defunct) than I never get to do it...

Enter in Deux Process (Vise Versa, Chief Nek & Shawn Dubb), some cats from round my way who've spent a grand total of 2 years out in LaLa land, who are now doing tracks with DJ Rhettmatic; the world famous Beat Junkie himself.

Well done bruthas, well done...Seriously thinking about doin' the exact same shit my damn self cause' Colorado ain't where it's at anymore...matter of fact I doubt it ever was.

Here's said track, that I guess is actually a year old already...Rhettmatic's production is nuts and the Duex Process boys rep accordingly...

If any of you are interested in checkin out these cats music a bit more keep in mind that Chief & Vise Versa got an album called "Price Of Dreams" coming real soon as well as a project with Soul Assassins producer G Rocka comin too..

Props to Shake on the link
