Man....I cannot believe it....First, Tommie Smith is tryin to sell his medal, now this...

As many of you may already know, Sucio Smash the current host DJ of The Squeeze Radio Show informed all of his loyal listeners that he had been informed by the brass over @ Columbia University that show would be effectively cancelled after tonight (Thursday Oct.14th)....

An institution in this thing we know and love called rap is being cut down after 20, yes 20 solid years of introducing not some, but damn near every important Hip-Hop artist to come out of the big apple EVER....

Do not let this injustice go down...sign this petition like I did and help save the goodness that two of Hip-Hop's most important personalities ever in Stretch & Bobbito started...This show is apart of our Hip-Hop heritage and it's not time for it to go out yet...not by a long shot...

Two Days ago Pete commenced The Open Loops Project, a plan which will see him attempt to release one song and an accompanying video every monday for 14 weeks straight leading up to his upcoming album, "One".

This is important for a lot of reasons...I'll quickly name 3:

1) Because consciousness has been so glaringly absent from any and all forms of mainstream entertainment...The Simpsons has some balls puttin big corporations like Fox on blast, and more ppl should follow suit.

2) b/c Banksy has always strived to get ppl to think, even just ironically many X's, when they look at his graffiti or street art and that is the sign not of just some rando tagger, but rather, a true artist and visionary--two things this new generation needs badly.

3) ...and finally b/c too many of us love our cheap products, T-Shirts and brand name items, but rarely do we ever think about the HUMANS that are basically slaves who are mis-treated and horribly underpaid who are forced to toil day in and day out to create, manufacture, process and package them.

Single: The Left - Scared

The Detroit trio that's currently got the underground buzzing ferociously for their debut record AKA The Left is gonna make waves...you need to get acquainted....

Apollo Brown, rapper Journalist 103 (pictured top), and DJ Soko (pictured bottom) take all three of their considerable talent fields and combine them to form a strong 3 pronged attack that any purist surely will instantly become enamored with.

I have no doubt that these cats will release a dynamite LP ("Gas Mask") on Oct. 26th that will turn heads and open ears...The evidence is found in their initial single "Scared"; a gloriously produced, well rapped and precision cut record that simply slaps...Looks like Apollo will mos def. continue on with the string of dope releases in the 20 dime...He's on my short list for producer of the year, but Shhhhhh, don't tell nobody.

News: New Big L Album Dropping Next Month

News has broken recently that states that yes, in fact next month on November 23rd the rap world will get what it's been clamoring for for years....A new album with new material from the late, great Big L...

I guess L's people's is all on board for this release and with the press release they included this statement:

This album is supported 100% by the Big L family.” Said Big L’s older brother Donald Phinazee “I’ve been talking about this album for the last six years and it means everything to me. This is an original Big L album and I’m excited to put my brother out. This album will show where he should have been and where he was about to go. It’s going on 12 years since he’s been gone. He would have been that one; this project will show where he should have been at’.

"Return Of The Devil's Son" will be distributed on Distrolord/SMC Recordings, will contain 21 tracks and features production from Showbiz, Lord Finesse and Domingo among others.

Video: Armageddon - Run Away

One of the last vestiges of the original Terror Squad crew, Armageddon, (or just "Geddy" if you been following TS and Joe since the 90's) resurfaces with a new vid/song titled "Run Away"...

News: Solomon Burke Passes Away

Over the weekend a true legend in the world of Music, Solomon Burke; one of the originators and innovators of that sweet soul music died in Amsterdam's Schipol airport. He was 70 years old.

This man was great, and Hip-Hop heads should pay him many respects, much of his music was interpolated and sampled into ours and to my knowledge Burke never had any qualms about that...If you need a refresher on Burke's great life Clark Collis over at EW.com just wrote a great piece on it...do check it out.

He lives on forever in his music.

One of the most slept on names within Hip-Hop's new underground scene is Co$$ ...Somehow ppl have overlooked the Tres Records standout while he's provided ample amounts of good music.

The west coast emcee has kept his wheels turning nevertheless and is teaming with Ft. Lauderdale producer Numonics for a new album they're gonna call "Revelations". For the initial single, we get dazzled by "Free", an astoundingly dope track that Nu and Co$$ have brought forth...really diggin this...

Aasim & DJ Self - The Money Pit pt. 2

Yeah, most of you might not realize this, but ya man, D O used to be a surefire mixtape head...I was checkin for every and any new artist to come out back in the mid 2K's, and while I must admit I probably was just chasing my tail most of the time, once in awhile I did stumble upon somethin pretty worthwhile.

Case in point, Aasim; once a sterling example of how Bad Boy might be able to come back legitimately and be a force in the game. Unfortunately, like most of the really dope talent that swings by Diddy's presence, if you have any chance of eclipsing his talent or fame, in all likelihood he's gonna leave you dwindling somewhere to rot. I first discovered Aasm on the mixtape circuit, straight bodying every appearance he had...Diddy's presence was kept limited and so that was a great plus as well. Aasim had all the goods needed to be a great emcee; a strong flow, mic presence, hardcore yet conscious lyrics...and after all why wouldn't he, he'd been schooled in songwriting by some of the best ever in the game, including the late, great Big Pun.

Fast forward to today and Aasim has re-emerged along w/ DJ Self with a new offering of music he's been working on. "The Money Pit pt. 2" is by no means on par with the first "Money Pit" mixtape/album that dropped nearly 6 years back, but it does give you that old Aasim in spurts...
