Veterano - Westside Stories

West coast production upstart Veterano has truly crafted a nice soundtrack for all you end of Summer mourners....

This amazing mix takes it's inspiration from the tunes that 70's and 80's babies heard they folks bumpin' in the ol' big body or in the kitchen on Saturday... These joints are also west coast low ridin' staples...It's hard to explain the music that coincides with a lot of Chicano culture, but really, in a few words it's soul, it's real and it's probably the best black music that was ever made in this country of any time period...ever..and yes, for some reason the vatos have been loving it for decades...

Take a stroll w/ Veterano here as he introduces you to the music that inspired a whole coast...

Yeah, I feel you on that. Being Mexican American myself and growing up listening to this dope music, I had never known about the brown/black beef that took place. It wasn't until my 20's when I educated myself on the history. It's kinda embarrassing to know that many Chicanos didn't pay respect to the creators of this music that they loved so much. Even today many don't know the history, yet they still choose to fued with blacks! It too bad. As far as the music- its classic. I've been bumpin Veterano's beat tape since it dropped! Lovin it.
