Here's something for all the inquiring minds that wanna know just who's gonna resurrect New York City from the ashes-or not. A collective of young, up and coming new artists from the 718 has banded together in order to stand against the proverbial Hip-Hop Legion Of Doom. Strangely enough, the illest cat featured on this joint; Oddisee, I don't think is a native New Yorker...lol, but who ever really was or is these days eh?

Following a dope conceptual theme over a Bonobo laced track, everyone featured on "SuperFriends" rhymes a nice line or two in homage of some of your favorite super heroes and villians. This joint is no "Secret Wars" by any means, (shout out to that man Last Emp!) but it's aaight tho. I know I love railing against some of the featured hipster rappers as much as other staunch golden age enthusiasts, but I just can't do that in totality in this case....

See, I was a big time comic book reader as a shorty and I love seeing my old flame (comics) meet my new mistress (Hip-Hop). LOL, now don't get it twisted, ya boy BIG D O is far from some nerdy, obsessed, acne faced, virgin, comic hound who knows the real names, height's, weight's and back story's of any and every super hero out there. I was a pretty big fan of a few comics back in the day, so I sort of like the fact that these cats took a swing at mixing the mediums.....delve into this adventure and get lost in the lyrics, the emcees and their uhhh, "super", lyrical powers.
