News: G. Dep Confesses To Murder He Committed 18 Years Ago

This typa shit is just sad....

On Wednesday night of this past week former Bab Boy recording artist Trevell "G. Dep" Coleman turned himself into the 25th precinct, admitting that he murdered a man that he attempted to rob over 17 years ago...Today, some of the details behind the story started to emerge online.

At the time of the murder Dep was a mere 18 years old. Apparently the homicide occurred in October of 1993 in Manhattan's James Weldon Johnson housing projects. As Dep approached and tried robbing his victim, a Mr. John Henkel, Henkel refused and reached for his 40 Caliber handgun and that's when, as Dep describes it, he pulled out his weapon and shot him 3 times in the chest. After that, he fled and tossed his pistol into the East River. The victim, Mr. Henkel was discovered and rushed to St. Luke's hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The case would remain cold for the next two decades, until Coleman's confession 3 days ago.

Coleman's road after parting ways with Bad Boy records has been rocky to put it mildly. He's been arrested 25 times and has looked none too healthy in recent years. The one time "protege" of Diddy's has subsequently been charged with murder and is being held without bail presently.
