Another leak from Chicago Molemen emcee Scheme's new "Manifesto EP" that pairs the dynamic young Latino rhyme artist with Brooklyn femcee and current reigning queen of the quotables, Jean Grae. Over an expansive, hardcore beat the two gloriously gifted scribes transmit a message of their lucid craft and give a bit of a back story on how they came to be where they are....
An absorbing and winsome creation "Let Me Do My Thing" sports all the celebrated old school nuances like scratches on the chorus, focused rhymes and even a "fuck Reagan" quote. While mired in subject matter of the past this creation manages to come better than slews of so called "modern" cuts that attempt to funnel some of the same ideas/emotions.....Point blank when these newbies rap about the same things I simply yawn.....when Scheme and Jean do it, I believe them and listen....make of that what you will....
The "Maifesto EP" drops on the 16th, go grab it, I have little doubt that it will contend and possibly be crowned for EP of the year....
