Vancouver, Canada based deejay, DJ Hedspin and the Gastown district's (still Vancouver) own shop/website Sharks+Hammers got together to produce this new, totally free mix. Not only is "Rakim - The R Mixtape Volume 1.0" a pretty definitive of Ra's must-hear records, but he also includes the actual samples used for each joint...This format of mixtape is nothing new, but you don't see it much anymore...It's a task, and Hedspin's efforts are highly appreciated and dully noted....Pick this up and experience Hip-Hop at it's lyrical height...
