Dub Floyd & Mick Boogie Present Phil Nash - Phil Of The Future Pt.2

Here's the brand new sophomore installment of Phil Nash's "Phil Of The Future" series, that adequately brings that jazzy, wordy and quirky boom bap steez to all you who long for it....

Backed up by the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff (who also produces a couple joints), Mick Boogie and Dub Floyd, the Delaware to Detroit transplant flexes his thoughtful style and ushers in new hope for the future for all these kids out here tryin' to rhyme, but are missing the point badly.

From mixing it up with heavily versed journeymen MC's like Skillz ("Word Tour") to getting mighty creative with the comic book wordplay ("The Wonder Twins") and even speaking on more consequential subject matter like monetary emptiness ("In God We Trust"), Phil definitely impresses lyrically on this outing....

Do yourself a solid and grab this, Phil is a gifted wordsmith and his dense lyrics and calculated flow certainly denote real promise. I can see why Jazzy Jeff would be willing to work with him on the regular. One of the tape's illest tracks hands down is their mellow collaboration "Hip-Hop Ish", that displays Nash weaving in and out of Jazz's smooth, upbeat production like a seasoned taxi driver darting through mid-day traffic on the freeway.

Hop in the Delorian with Phil Nash as he takes you back to the future of ill Hip-Hop people!

An easy 8 outta 10...
