News: Shyne Gets Confirmed Release Date

After having served 8 1/2 years on a 10 year sentence for the highly publicized and violent club shooting that took place back in December of 1999, it seems that Jamal "Shyne" Barrow, now going by the government name Moses Leviy, will be paroled on October 6th, 2009...

The main question now is whether the former Bad Boy artist will receive the maximum parole sentencing of 5 years or the minimum parole sentencing of 2 1/2. Apparently due to a small legality Shyne wasn't sentenced to any parole back in March of 2001 and so he must be "re-sentenced". That duty will fall under the responsibility of Charles Soloman, the same judge that handed down that 10 year sentence on Shyne in 01'.

This "re-sentencing" will take place tomorrow and since July 21st Po' has been staying at Rikers Island instead of his usual Woodburne Correctional Facility in Sullivan County. The reason the "re-sentencing" of his parole is so crucial is because of the level of supervison each possible sentence could incur. If the maximum parole is imposed Shyne's comeback to the recording industry could be made considerably more difficult and would prevent him from touring and taking part in many functions essential to resuming his once high profile career....

Also, amid all of this confirmed news, there has been a few reports that Jay-Z had recently visited Shyne while he was at Rikers and is supposedly courting him to a record contract on his new label Roc Nation....
