Single: Ras Kass - Thank You

It's already been 7 days since Ras's last installment of "Ras Kass Quarterly" and it looks like I gotta keep my word and post up this week's edition due to it's stellar content and my promise to keep throwing up the joints from him if they're nice...

Highlighting the well of talent Ras can show you at any given time, "Thank You" is probably just as heartwarming and thoughtful as it is heady and skillful. Over a beat that samples the Golden Girls theme Ras rips off a bevy of names that in all honesty probably mean more to him than they do his audience. While doing so, he relays stories about his experiences, tough and triumphant alike, that he's gone through during his tenure as an artist and the help he received to get by them. From when he was dropped and having trouble at the label to being on the run from authorities to his mixtape grind, Ras takes us on a trip down memory lane and amazingly incorporates a host of people that played a part along the way....

I must go ahead and praise whomever he does pay tribute to on "Thank You" as well, no doubt it took a special kind of person to be around for someone who's had as rough of a go of it as Razzy has at times....Without a question he's aware of who has been down for him and I think that's why he broke out the laundry list of names and the brilliant flow for the occasion....So in a way, because he's had this amazing support system we all get a glimpse into his true abilities....

Hands down this is one of the best tracks in the "Quarterly" series and one of the best fan/friend tributes I've ever heard.....great work Ras and your welcome!
