Posted up the unfinished version of this some months back, today we got the official joint that includes Joell bustin' out a third wonderfully descriptive account of our on-going love affair with the "Hood".
This is the type of song that really makes you miss your old haunts.
Lyrically transplanting me to their home bases of Detroit, MI, Port Author, TX and Brooklyn, NYC, I get to enjoy a different perspective that is yet all too familiar here...We all have our old glory days of just hangin' in our lil' section of the world, on "Hood Love" we get a peek at 3 of our favorite MC's old stomping grounds.
Premier's vivid production accents the MC's stories of round' the way idiosyncrasies perfectly and almost immediately will jog your brain of all of your own fond memories related to hangin' out. Whether it was on the block, in the park, on the boulevard, the avenue, in the pool hall, at the gym or wherever you mis-spent the majority of ya time back in the ole' neighborhood, "Hood Love" will remind you of that and inevitably leave you yearning for those distant times.
Royce's new album "Street Hop" from which this is taken invades a hood near yaself on the 20th...
