Video: Guru - Lost & Found

Guru "Lost And Found" from East Coast Digital Radio on Vimeo.

The estranged other half of Gangstarr drops a new video titled "Lost & Found" and unleashes a good bit of historic imagery on us.

Speaking wise and very true words, Guru's new vid is a triumph. I fear Many won't have the patience to watch, but for long-time fans it's great to see Guru in his true element, which in this situation happens to be kicking the truth about the current state of Hip-Hop and just outright being defiant of that horrid new attitude spreading like the plague it is. Everyone and they momma has an opinion on his new music, here's a moment when he proves he's still capable. Applaud him for that.

I really liked all the background images. It's ill when Hip-Hop decides to incorporate certain truths in it's presentation; almost makes it twice as potent in my opinion. From the Black Power and Civil Rights movements in America, to ancient hieroglyphs, war and warriors the pictures were laid out in a captivating way.

The beginning is overtly controversial too, I must warn you lol. I guess Guru decided that picturing the moon landing swarmed by UFO's while men in space suits planted a Nazi flag is a reasonable possibility as to what really went down all those years ago. Uhhh, I'm sure anything is possible, but even that is kind of a stretch for me. Maybe he was trying to send a message through symbolism. I'm not sure, but just work past the conspiracies and questionable re-creation scene and listen up, there's a solid and powerful message to be heard here...

*On a small side note, I saw/heard a recent radio interview with DJ Premier where he commented that doing another album with Guru was a real possibility. Gangstarr fans stay tuned!*
