DJ Disco Wiz WKCR Interview & Set

If you ain't know Hip-Hop started out in the Bronx and Latinos have been there since day 1...Specifically, the first Latino DJ ever was the man pictured above; DJ Disco Wiz, who after witnessing Kool Herc performing in the Bronx, got together with his boy Casanova Fly (AKA Grandmaster Caz) and formed the Mighty Force Crew. Fly and Wiz would go on to present the first Latino rapper ever in Prince Whipper Whip and the rest is as they say, history...

Today Wiz is considered a Hip-Hop legend and sits on the Universal Federation for the Preservation of Hip Hop Culture alongside other dignitaries like Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel, KRS-One, Lovebug Starski and Afrika Bambaataa. He's also authored several books and still is pretty sharp on the 1's and 2's.

Here we have Wiz sittin down with Sucio Smash of Squeeze Radio three days back discussing a number of topics including his newest book "It’s Just Begun: The Epic Journey of DJ Disco Wiz, Hip-Hop’s First Latino DJ". After some more chatting, Wiz is good enough to perform a DJ set for the people.
