Elzhi - The Leftovers Unmixedtape

I spend the day out trying to assist my boy with his car troubles and enjoying some of the best fast casual dining around (word to that bomb ass Fettuccine Alfredo at Fazoli's) and they try and sneak a new Elzhi tape in on me....

It might be mad early in the morning, but I still can't pass up posting this new gem from Detroit's best kept secret.

Doling out some of his lesser known works, we get hit with 14 of El's rarer collab's and promo cuts. The one time J. Dilla fill-in for Slum Village doesn't even have to come with exclusive or fresh material to still check in with the best mixtape's of the month thus far...Since his inception to Slum Village in 02' he's more than earned his spot, he's become one of Motown's most recognizable and inimitable lyricists.

A personal fav. I spy on here just from scanning the track list is the "Colors Remix"; the resonantly dope wordplay that El did on this for DJ Spinna's latest album "Sonic Smash" is one of his signature joints. None of this stuff is mastered or has that overly finished feel, it's all straight from the stu, unmixed, just as the title reads...

The mixtape is available free for all of you cause hey, it's a recession year and got damnit times is tougher than leather. If by chance you are one of the more fortunate folks out there that can afford to give back a lil' somethin' somethin' to artists like Elzhi who straight bring it everytime out, consider peepin' the 2nd link and droppin' him some change for his efforts keepin' us fixed with good music.

You can get an actual physical copy of "The Leftovers Unmixedtape" for only $5 bones...that's a freakin' Hockeytown steal...
