Video: We Are The World 25 For Haiti

Even though it's been over a month since Haiti experienced a devastatingly strong earthquake, the pain and need there is still as high as ever, if not higher and it's still on us to help that country and those people there in any way we can...

Yesterday the two music giants that helped orchestrate the first "We Are The World" record; Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones, went back to the same studio to try and go to bat for all those ailing in Haiti. Recruiting 80 of the recording world's biggest and brightest names and airing the 8 minute video directed by Paul Haggis during NBC's first night of Winter Olympics coverage, the message is clear; It's time to help those in need...

Now I've already begun to hear some grumblings brewing regarding the song and it's artistic merit and all that good stuff...HEY! Listen, we all can appreciate that maybe the original was better because it only featured the truest of talent from back then and I myself don't totally understand why autotune was used on portions of the track. Despite this, we have to push all that doesn't matter about this song/video and it's creation to the rear and take in what about it that does--that being the fact that we still can do something for Haitians that are suffering beyond all comprehension right now and all of these people came together to further raise that awareness....
