J. Period & K’NAAN – The Messengers: Bob Marley

Okay, shake off those holiday hangovers and try, if you can, to regain your equilibrium after you for some reason chose to eat as much BBQ as you could, followed by drinking as much Tequila as you could...Or was that just me?

Today, we're delving back into J.Period's latest project with K'Naan, "The Messengers", that features K rhyming over re-worked samples from four of the world's most talented and socially aware artists ever in a four part series. I put up the first installment last Tuesday that featured Fela Kuti, and now we have the second part in the series that re-visits the great one, Bob Marley. J.Period provides his usual dose of beatmaking and DJ magic while K'Naan tries to capture the essence that was Robert Nesta Marley....
