If you didn't know, last year Detroit production wiz Black Milk put together a beat tape comprised solely of instrumentals he made using Prince samples....He called it "The Purple Tape" and threw it out to the net...

Today, we get the first of what I'm sure will be many mixtapes that utilize Milk's free instrumentals in thee creatively titled plainly titled new mix from Pooh "The Purple Tape"

This 11 track experiment is entertaining enough, but will ultimately leave you longing for 9th Wonder to rejoin Little Brother, or at least for Pooh and Phonte to hit Mr. Douthit on the hip a lil' more often requesting beats...No knock against Milk, he's nasty on the boards as we all know, I'm just not much of a Prince fan...blame my ex, not me....
