Single: JoJo Pellegrino ft. Raekwon - Dead Serious

Many of you might remember the name JoJo Pellegrino from bodying the shit outta the 2nd Violater comp back in 01'...Since then he's bounced around a good bit and dropped a few mixtapes, but for the most part I guess major labels (including Violator) just felt like the country ain't ready for a legit white Italian American MC to blow....

Myself, I been a fan since I first heard the man going back and forth with Kurupt on "Grind Season" on the same Violator compilation. It's always puzzled me why all the other stuff has frequently overshadowed his glaring talent, but hey, that's the game. I remember him doing interviews and being asked like 40 questions about being an Italian from Staten Island and 2 about Hip-Hop...

In any case, JoJo always tries to stay busy and throw his fans a lil' somethin' when he can...this time around he taps a fellow Shaolin native to assist him on one of the grittiest tracks you'll hear this entire year, "Dead Serious"...

You can call me crazy, but JoJo def. took a swipe at Eminem with this line too:

"....here's another, a million blacks, 9 Latins and 1 Italian guy rappin' just to get in the position that white trash in".

Re-directed angst for having to answer all those "white rapper" questions and deal with the incessant, incorrect Eminem comparisons maybe?

You better duck Marshall...I been tellin people for 10 years that JoJo is nicer than you.
