Review: Dres - From The Black Pool Of Genuis: The Prelude EP



In Hip-Hop today you'd be hard pressed to find many artist's that have stayed their course more so than Dres of Black Sheep. The Queens, NY native's creative and intelligent rhymes combined with an always present knack for picking up interesting production once again powers one of his releases; this time a 5 track EP titled "From the Black Pool of Genius: The Prelude"

While most of Dres' positive attributes as an artist thankfully have stayed intact, there have been some changes within Black Sheep. The group that once consisted of both Dres and William "Mista Lawnge" McLean first broke up a long while back (around 94') and then a second time in 2006 following the digital release of the group's 3rd LP "8WM/Novakane". Since then Dres has continued forward using the group name despite Mclean's absence.
