Video Interview: Amir (of Kon And Amir) Talks About WaxPoetics Records

Amir Abdullah is one half of the super record diggin duo Kon And Amir ...

If you don't know the name, Amir is a guy that has more records than you, knows more about records than you and pretty much is your favorite crate digger's favorite crate digger.

Since 1997 Amir and his buddy Kon have been tirelessly excavating record stores for the illest beats, loops and grooves. Mostly known for their legendary "On Track" albums that feature obscure funk, soul, jazz, psych rock and every other genre that is now lumped together as "rare groove", the tandem is a force and known worldwide for their diggin exploits.

Thanks to my main man Drasar Monumental over at Hip-Hop Battlefield blog I got a chance to peep this new vid from Amir and hear about his latest endeavors as the head of WaxPoetics Records, licensing long forgotten music, his record collection and a pretty funny story about a Denver record spot that I used to frequent quite a bit, lol...Shout out to Black & Read Records! Love that place...In all honesty though he could of very likely been talking about Angelo's or The K Town Galleria too, kinda hard to tell cause he said "Arvada" then corrected himself and said "East Aurora"...
