Review: Murs & 9th Wonder - Fornever



These days it seems like the collaboration style album is the taste du jour for a good number of prominent underground Hip-Hop artists. Many have ditched more orthodox formulas to go “hitman for hire” and pair up with an established MC or a very sought after beat crafter for an album or two, combining each respective artist’s fanbases and sounds, while we; the audience, reap the aural benefits. Duos like like Mr. Green and Pacewon, Marco Polo and Torae, Jake One and Freeway all definitely come to mind when I think about cats that linked up outta nowhere and fortuitously cross breeded their respective sounds, but the relatively new trend’s true champions I would say are an eccentric, dread locked L.A. rhymer and a soulful N.C. producer, who have just released their third “collabo” album titled "Fornever".
