Novel Presents Suspended Animation

For quite a bit of time now the multi-talented singer, MC, songwriter and producer Novel has been quietly causing a stir of echoes in the underground scene as well as adding some additional flavor to some of the R&B world's most lauded acts.

Having already worked with a plethora of urban music's best new artist's from Joell Ortiz to Leona Lewis, Novel is a secret to some, but if you follow genuine talent you should be well aware of the young virtuoso....

Once upon a time Novel was a fledgling artist on the reformed Rawkus Records roster, whom I actually thought had huge potential. I even picked up one of his 12" singles....These days Novel calls Super composer (and one time Dubai drug convict, lol) Dallas Austin's Rowdy imprint his recording home and is still prepping what I'm sure will be a monster of a debut LP in "The Audiobiography". Before we get that helping in the next 2 months or so however, we must peep Novel's new mixtape that is very rooted in a concentrated Hip-Hop sound, but still features him using every weapon in his musical arsenal and drawing influences from all over the musical spectrum. The Production, song themes and lyrical attachments of this tape all fascinate and Novel chose wisely with his guest features....

Memorable moments include; Ghostface dropping in for a hilarious (I think) ode to the much publicized songstress Rihanna, Joell Ortiz and Papoose teaming with Novel to provide "So Much More", the video that has created a heap of buzz for this tape on may Hip-Hop blogs and the Canadian equivalent of Novel AKA singer/songwriter/producer Colin Munroe, dropping in for a powerful assist on "To Find A Hero"....

"Suspended Animation" is a well rounded effort, that will please the folks who seek something lighter that is still artistically sharp...
