Single: Genovese - I'm Thru Wit It (prod. by Thorotracks)

Bidding the game a fond and ferocious farewell, the Yonkers, NY hardcore MC Genovese, who burst onto the mixtape circuit well over a decade ago gives what is perhaps his last performance on "I'm Thru Wit It"....

Backed by a strong re-worked production of a noted Beyonce hit, the magnificent Queens based duo Thorotracks aids Vese with a nice beat. From bar 1 Vese goes in on the game as a whole and explains his plight of being a superlative white artist in a medium dominated by blacks. His many trials and tribulations within the business take center stage, including the turmoil between him and Universal that in my opinion was the biggest derailment of any career in Hip-Hop, maybe ever....Not only that, Vese breaks down his huge disdain for the current trendiness of Hip-Hop much like anyone would expect a real MC from the 90's to do....

In the end the man behind the street classic's "Genovesese's Thesis" and “Revolve Like the Doors” with Styles P, who was also co-signed by the late Notorious B.I.G. (who even at one point wanted Vese to be in Junior Mafia) and DJ Clue just doesn't want to be apart of what Hip-Hop has become and despite some pleads from his good friends DJ Kayslay and Styles P on his voicemail, Vese has made it clear he's probably done....

Perhaps Rap's first real connection to the Mafia, the proud and skilled Italian-American was a pure joy to hear in his glory days back on those Clue tapes....I remember it like it was yesterday...he had it all; the voice, the background, the persona and most importantly the lyrical prowess....If indeed he's legitimately calling it quits, I bid him adieu and thank him for helping sculpt some of those really great mixtape years in the mid and later 90's....
